The embedded OS, called ThreadX, is surprisingly helpful, and filled to the brim with every kind of information you could want- try help for a list of commands, and help all for a list of commands+syntax/and or examples.Ī few general notes about the system. You may see a Zmon> prompt depending on if the box is in standby mode or not. Open up your terminal program (Hyperterminal, minicom, gtkterm, other terminal emulator), and set options 115200,8,N,1. My aim is to expand what’s known and what can be done. A few adventurers on the AVS forums started exploring what could be done with the box, and a good amount of my knowledge of the box came from those fine folks. Unlike many of the boxes, the Tivax has a serial port on the back of it that can be easily accessed. At the end of that process, I came away with one for myself- the Tivax STB-T9. Over the last few months, I’ve been in charge of setting up some people with digital converter boxes. No wonder the economy blows.Įxploring the Tivax STB-T9 Digital Converter They pay you to do work, not surf the internet. Stop wasting someone else’s time and money. I don’t really care what anyone does with their own time. The reason I write this is to improve productivity in the work place. This approach will work for twitter, facebook, and any other pages that can be obtained using https. It DOES NOT PREVENT ACCESS TO google, igoogle, google sites, or google docs. I’ve tested this and it blocks all access to gmail – including through igoogle, igoogle gadgets, and various browsers. A good way to test if gmail is blocked is by going to – don’t include the some SSL Control apps can’t block this URL because it does direct data grabs like a gadget does. Normal URL filtering will not work with HTTPS since the URL is encrypted in these fetches. you’ll see what IP the application data is fetched from. You should begin a capture when reloading the gmail page. I pulled up these using Wireshark ( ) and filtering for only my IP address using (ip.addr=x.x.x.x, where x.x.x.x is your IP address). That last set (72.x.x.x) blocks the secure mail feed for both SSL gmail, gmail gadgets, and igoogle. All I did what put in the first domain IP address, and then go up a level and down a level till I covered the pool of google IP addresses. The IPs were pulled from both a WHOis website (such as ). you set up a rule for BOTH inbound and outbound connections. The best place to do this is on the domain (you can get to it in group policy or in admin tools).

Meanwhile, the people who have jobs aren’t quite qualified for their jobs and sit there not doing anything. The main reason is because of the chat app, because some people sit on gmail all day long and get paid to do no actual work – while everyone complains that the economy is so bad and there are no jobs.

have your PC or your network just drop or block the traffic then the page or app will no longer work. To say the least, just block the darn IP address sending the data. Everyone, in about 1000 or so pages came up empty handed, scratching their heads at this notorious HTTPS issue.
Well, google doesn’t supply information to block their sites or access to their sites from gadgets, apps, or browsers. I, like most people, attempted an easy fix.
So after quite a lot of searching online for an easy way to isolate gmail from the google stackup – in order to block it in the work place – I came up empty handed. Jat 7:36 pm ( ReasonAble Security: PC IT, Tech Opinion, Technology)
